今天分享的是part1的一个话题—Flowers，花。

一共四道题，说难也不难，说简单也并不十分简单。

What kinds of flowers do you know?

你都知道什么花？

这道题大家不用怕，就算不知道那些花的英文名字，我们也照样可以答得漂亮。

比如：I know roses for sure. People usually buy roses on Valentine’s Day and give them to their lovers. Red roses are the most popular ones.Besides, there are of course many other flowers everywhere but I don’t know the names of those flowers in English, not even in Chinese. Sorry about it.

怎么样，是不是搞定了？虽然有点儿尴尬，但是总比没话可说强得多。当然，常见的花，比如百合是lily,梅花是plum，牡丹是peony，这些名字简单又常见的花大家可以记一下。

这样的话，我们对这道题就可以正常回答了：I know the names of a few flowers, such as rose, lily, plum and peony.Among these flowers, plum is my favourite especially red plums in winter. They are simple but gorgeous.

Are there any flowers that have special meanings in China?

中国是否有特殊含义的花？

当然有，比如花开富贵的牡丹，凌霜斗雪的梅花。上一道题我们已经特别说了梅花，这道题就不要再重复梅花的含义了。可以重点说一说牡丹，比如：

Of course, there are many flowers in China that have special meanings.For example, peony. It is considered as our national flower and it means good fortune and happiness. The meaning is very positive and many people love it.

再比如薰衣草——lavender，花语是等待爱情。

Lavenderis a flower that means waiting for love. The purple colour is very special and many girls including me can’t resist the charm when we see a lavender field.

Have you planted any flowers?

你种过花吗？

实事求是回答就好。

肯定：

Yes, I have. There is a small garden in my house and my mum taught me how to grow some plums. It’s amazing to see them blossom slowly. I enjoyed the process very much.

否定：

No, I have never grown any flower in my life. I only buy flowers and keep them in my home. I guess I will try it in the future. It could be fun.

回答没种过，大家可以展望一下未来，说会去尝试。如果对种花完全不感兴趣，也可以说：To be honest, I have never grown any flower and I don’t plan to grow any in the future. The reason is that I am not interested in plant sat all. I don’t think I can take good care of them.

Have you sent flowers to anyone?

你给别人送过花吗？

如果有，给谁送的，送了什么花，对方收到之后什么反馈？如果没送过，将来是否打算送？送给谁？为什么？如果不想送花给别人，为什么？总之，不能一句话了事，一定要展开细节进行阐述。

肯定：

Sure,I have. I sent flowers to many people including my mum and my girlfriend. They were all excited about receiving flowers and that made me feel satisfied. I usually send roses to people I love.

否定1：

No,I haven’t. I never thought about sending flowers to anyone. PeopleI know do not like flowers. Also, I prefer to send more practical gifts to my family and friends.

否定2：

No,but I really want to send flowers to someone I love. I guess I will buy my mum some flowers that she might like on her birthday. I may also send flowers to my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day when I have a girl friend.
