　　01.What kind of foreign movies o can be popular in your country?

As a cinema-goer, I can say that science fiction movies especially American science fiction movies can often become popular in my country.I guess the reason is that numerous Chinese youngsters enjoy going to cinema and many of them enjoy science fiction movies according to what I often see from the young people around me.As a matter of fact,some science fiction movies imported from overseas countries and some excellent domestic ones can dominate the market gaining a huge box office success.One of the most popular science fiction movies with 3-D effects is Avatar,in which the director perfectly used computer eftects to visualisehis wild imagination.

　　02.What are the differences between Hollywood movies and movies of your country？

Many Hollywood movies,if not most,are kind of overly-commercialised.

The story line of those movies is usually considerably easy,talking about the revenge,super heroes or wars,in order to make every audience from aII over the world with various cultural backgrounds understand and accept it.To some extent,directors don't need to care about what their movies express is right or wrong.Thats why we can often see many crime movies,glorifying criminals or encouraging people to use violence to deal with violence.The only purpose of producing this type of movies is to make money.However,there are many strict rules for the movie industry in my country so as to regulate and control movie producers.Most movies from my country are always full of positive energy although most audience can guess the end of the movies.

　　03.Do you think watching foreign movies is an effective way to learn foreign cultures?

Not at all.The foreign cultures that people learn from movies are quite superficial.As I said,movies are entertaining and commercialised in present society and usually they no longer represent cultures of a nation.However,watching foreign movies still means a lot for cultural study It's undoubted that watching foreign movies can greatly cultivate people's interest in foreign cultures.For example,after watching the American movie Forrest Gump,I felt quite confused about why the guy runs all th time.Therefore,I began to read comments of that movie online.According to what I have read,I understand more about the history and culture of that country and now I know why some fans call it the modern history book of the USA.

　　04.Is there anything that needs to be done by your govemment for promoting the movie industry?

The Chinese government has done a great number of things to promote the movie industry.However,what it has done is far from enough.From my perspective,tax reduction policy should be implemented on some sorts of movies,which can encourage more investors to spend their money on those movies like historical movies.Usually this kind of movies cost plenty of money and take a pretty long time to make but most movie audiences don't want to pay for them.This causes the fact that movies like this can't make good profits.It's unquestionable that historical movies are quite meaningful and educational for our society.Accordingly,the financial aid from governments is necessary.
